Liz Scott

Liz started her photographic journey when she left school and went to work for a small photographic business. They were commercial photographers as well as retailers, it was here that she learnt her photographic skills and discovered a passion for monochrome and the darkroom. Her boss at that time had made her aware of The London Salon of Photography and in the late 1980’s she started to submit prints into the annual exhibition. Throughout the 1990’s Liz had many prints accepted and in 2000 she was invited to become a member, which she was delighted to accept.

Over the last 40 years Liz has exhibited in national and international salons,
gaining many medals and a FIAP accreditation. She became an associate of the Royal Photographic Society in 1992.

A keen user of Infra red film early in her career, Liz is still fascinated with the
medium and uses a converted digital camera today because she enjoys the
escape from reality that it provides. Although Liz has always enjoyed
photographing people, her pictures today are often inspired by the natural world. Photographing detail in the landscape, trees, plants and of course the light itself. Liz also keeps returning to her long term project of greenhouses, not only seeking out derelict and overgrown structures, but also grand, imposing ones.
