Jonathan is a creative photographer based in Bedfordshire. Relatively new to photography his life with the camera has been purely digital. As a successful club photographer his work has been used at regional and national levels. He was awarded a London Salon Medal in 2017, which was around the time his photography took a new path.
His creative work is based upon pictorialism with an approach of photographing light, colour and texture over subject. He creates many of his images using in-camera techniques such as Multiple Exposure. Jonathan’s work is often referred to as wall art and many of his images have a painterly look. He works on projects, creating images in sets often in themes. He promotes “creative thinking” within the art and believes this provides a positive impact on mental health and wellbeing.
He is a self-employed Photographic Educator leading online sessions for organisations including the Royal Photographic Society as well as other international workshop providers. He also teaches small groups and one to one on post processing techniques. He leads residential workshops for Creative Photography throughout Europe and North America.
Jonathan judges at club, regional and international level in addition to delivering print talks to clubs and societies. He believes an image only exists when in print and is an affiliate of several suppliers to the photographic community.
