Colin photographs mainly in the landscape and he has a deep affinity and passion for his subject. He finds no greater pleasure than to capture what his eye sees and his soul ‘feels’. He seeks to portray the essence of his subject, whether it be the wild landscapes of places such as Iceland, or the more gentle features nearer to his home on Mersea Island, Essex.
An appreciation of light has always been a motivation behind Colin’s pictures, from the drama of a stormy day to the soft luminous light when it is misty. He also enjoys discovering the ‘intimate’ landscape, where the texture, shapes and form of subjects close at hand are revealed by careful vision and selection.
Colin was elected to Membership of the London Salon in 1990 and in addition, he is a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and has the Mastership distinctions of F.I.A.P. and the P.A.G.B.
